Apple released on Wednesday its third update for iOS 11, iOS 11.0.3, which includes bug fixes for iPhones or iPads.
The update particularly focuses on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 6s. Apple said 11.0.3 addresses a haptic feedback problem with the iPhone 7 en 7 Plus, as well as issues with the iPhone 6s touchscreen.
The update comes after iOS 11’s official release a few weeks ago and iOS 11.0.2’s release last week. iOS 11.0.3 can be downloaded by going to Settings > Algemene > Software Update.
Apple said the update:
Fixes an issue where audio and haptic feedback would not work on some iPhone 7 en 7 Plus devices
Addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 6s displays because they were not serviced with genuine Apple parts
The update also included a warning to iPhone and iPad users about getting unofficial replacements for the device’s display.
“Non-genuine replacement displays may have compromised visual quality and may fail to work correctly,” Apple said in the update. “Apple-certified screen repairs are performed by trusted experts who use genuine Apple parts.”
Last week’s update, iOS 11.0.2 fixed a problem that led iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus users to hear a crackling sound from their smartphone’s earpiece. The static noise was heard when users were on a phone call or using FaceTime. iOS 11’s previous update, iOS 11.0.1, was released two weeks ago and included fixes to bug issues.
iOS 11’s release date was revealed at Apple’s September event and was launched to coincide with the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus. De update comes with a revamped Control Center, smarter Siri, Files App, updates to iMessage and Photos and a Do Not Disturb feature for drivers. One of the biggest features the update brings is augmented reality support.
iOS 11.1 Release
Apple announced last week hundreds of new emojis will be available with the upcoming iOS 11.1 Update. The emoji list includes more emotive faces, gender-neutral characters, clothing options, foods, animals, mythical creatures and persons and other options.
The company said the new emojis will first release in the iOS 11.1 beta this week and will launch afterwards to everyone. Apple did not announce the exact iOS 11.1 Releasedatum.
Besides the emoji, users are also waiting for Apple Pay improvements, which were revealed during Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June. The updates to Apple Pay include a person-to-person feature and the Apple Pay Cash card. The new features did not make it in iOS 11’s official release. Apple said last month Apple Pay improvements will come in updates to iOS 11, but so far there have been three updates with no sign of the Apple Pay features. While Apple hasn’t specified the release date of the new features, the improvements could be released this month.
