Kim Nam-Joon, better known by his stage name RM, is a South Korean rapper, songwriter, and record producer. He is a member of the South Korean boy band BTS, also known as the Bangtan Boys. He is the leader and main rapper of the group and has become a global phenomenon since their debut in 2013.
Early Life and Education
RM was born on September 12, 1994, in Ilsan, South Korea, to parents Kim Nam-Joon and Park Mi-Hee. He has a younger sister, Kim Geong-Min. He attended Global Cyber University and graduated with a degree in economics. He also attended Global Cyber University’s School of Media Arts, where he studied acting and directing.
Career
In 2010, RM made his debut as an underground rapper under the name Runch Randa. He released several mixtapes and featured on tracks by other underground rappers. He then joined BTS in 2013 and the group debuted in June of that year.
