How to Disable Microsoft Edge Tab Preview In Windows 10
Edge, the new web browser from Microsoft for Windows 10, is the default web browser in Windows 10. The Microsoft Edge, although not offers all the features offered by its competitors, the browser is fast and supports extensions as well.
Tab preview feature in Microsoft Edge
With Windows 10 November Update (version 1511), Microsoft introduced tab preview feature for Microsoft Edge. As the name of the feature suggests, the tab preview feature allows you preview the contents of a tab by just moving the mouse over the tab.
Edge tab preview is certainly a nice feature and most users use it very often before switching to a tab. That said, there are users who might not like this tab preview for their own reasons.
As of now, there is no way out there to disable Edge tab preview from Edge settings. However, you can manually edit the Registry to disable Edge tab preview in Windows 10.
Disable tab preview feature of Microsoft Edge in Windows 10
Use the below mentioned directions to disable Edge tab preview feature in Windows 10.
NOTE: Since this method involves editing Windows Registry, we advise you create a manual system restore point so that you can restore Windows 10 to a previous date if something goes terribly wrong after making changes to Registry.
Step 1: In the Start menu or taskbar search box, type Regedit and then press Enter key.
Click Yes button when you see the User Account Control dialog.
Step 2: In the Registry Editor, navigate to the following key:

Step 3: On the right-side, create a new 32-bit DWORD value by right-clicking on the empty area, clicking New, clicking DWORD (32-bit) Value and name it as TabPeekEnabled.
Step 4: Finally, double-click on TabPeekEnabled and set its value to 0 (zero) to turn off Microsoft Edge tab preview in Windows 10.
Close the Registry Editor and restart Microsoft Edge, if it’s running.
NOTE: To enable tab preview again, simply set the value of TabPeekEnabled to 1.
